Successful dental office in La Habra is looking for a front office staff member. Minimum 2 years dental insurance billing (PPO and HMO). We are looking for a team player who is motivated and a hard worker. Even though we are a group practice we like to operate each of our dental offices like a private practice. We like all of our patients to feel that they are in a warm and comfortable environment. We are looking for someone with a positive attitude that has already proven that they can be a strong team player in a dental office and will have all the necessary skills for the position.

Our ideal candidate:

- Minimum of 2 year degree or vocational school certificate/degree

- RDA or DA license is a plus

- Flexible to travel to other related dental offices within 15 miles in Orange County

- Ability to work until 7 pm some nights and overtime when necessary

- Interacts well with people and has excellent social skills

- Experience in insurance, EOB, and dental billing

- Ability to multi-task and prioritize so as to maximize efficiency

- Excellent organization skills and detail oriented

- Computer and dental literate (Dentrix is a plus)

- Works well independently, as well as, a team player

- Expert knowledge of PPO and HMO insurances- Ability to write letters, faxes and responding to emails are all important to the position

- The candidate must be a quick study to learn our computerized practice management/scheduling software system which is unique to our business

- Self-motivated and independent / Solves problems- Can accept direction by others in a humble and easy going manner

Some responsibilities include:

* Prepare and send insurance billing

* Prepare and send patient statements* Know and understand our financial policy

* Establish financial arrangements with patients

* Be responsible for handling financial questions from patients

* Review next day's patients and record amount that is to be collected (Care Slip)

* Responsible to see that the amount to be collected is done by the receptionist or you

* Responsible that all accounts are kept updated accurately and completely with all pertinent collection data

* Keep the fee schedule updated

* Have patients fill out necessary forms for credit agreement

* Keep all necessary forms for your area in good supply

* Trace all outstanding insurance claims more than 30 days old

* Cover Receptionist post during lunch and breaks

* Keep an accurate aging record of all accounts, i.e. 30, 60, 90 day accounts

* Monitor and collect all delinquent accounts by phone calls and letters

* Keep accurate records of amount of insurance billed and collected each day

* Balance daily deposit. Take deposit to the bank no later than 3:30 pm

* Balance daily posting of charges, payments & sign Dentrix deposit slip

* Post insurance payments and mail in payments to patients accounts

* Use daily, weekly and monthly check sheets

* Keep track of your statistics and post to your graph daily, weekly, and monthly

* File all charts, x-rays and insurance forms that pertain to your area
